Master Yang is a significant figure in the LEGO Ninjago universe, known primarily as the original Master of Airjitzu. He lived long before the current generation of ninja, dedicating his life to perfecting the art.

Driven by a desire for immortality and recognition, Yang developed Airjitzu, a powerful but unstable aerial fighting technique. He enshrined his knowledge within the Temple of Airjitzu, which became haunted after his death.

Tragically, Yang's attempts to achieve immortality went awry. He inadvertently became a ghost when his physical body failed to integrate with the Airjitzu technique he was developing. His spectral form is bound to the Temple of Airjitzu.

As a villainous ghost, Master Yang sought to turn others into ghosts as well, believing it was the only way to truly master Airjitzu and achieve lasting significance. He serves as a powerful antagonist in the show's fifth season, "Possession."
